Lorraine Brave

Since 1997, Lorraine Brave, Brave Transitions, has been serving individuals, teams and diverse communities drawing on their creative potential to effect positive change.

Lorraine Brave will facilitate, train, and team build to bring about the advanced development of innovation and transformation for transitions.

I am passionate about developing human potential to solve problems that make a difference to getting the job done right. I am particularly sensitive to the strengths of individuals, teams and community. I capably draw on their creative potential for change to work for you. I’m Lorraine Brave; I’m a Human Development Consultant with over 25 years of experience for Brave Transitions with a background in Social Work. I have been a professor at the University of Washington, and presently at Portland State University.  I skillfully help with cultural competencies as a trainer and facilitator. I can help you with effective culturally appropriate language for training materials. I use culturally sensitive methodologies and empirical based knowledge. I am experienced at connecting people for team building for challenging situations. I am a mentor, coach, and liaison for management, faculty, and students. I consult to build professional competencies by integrating theory and practice. I aid in the hiring and retaining of underrepresented populations. I support shared leadership while working in the Native community. What problems keep you awake at night? 

My goal is to assist in the improvement of the quality of Native Families I do this by building on the strengths of the community.  I facilitate and provide technical assistance from team building to working with the court systems. Today I am honored to be able to provide consulting due to my years of experience in teaching and direct practice.  I appreciate that most of my referrals are through word of mouth.
